What we're all about
Laver Marine Boat Inspections provides independent, practical boat inspections for vessels being purchased, sold, or insured.
Our Inspection Process
Boat inspections and reporting are deliberately clear and to the point. The report is designed to give a realistic understanding of a boat’s condition without excessive technical detail or padding. In many cases, the report serves as a starting point for further consideration, in others, it provides a clear conclusion that no further time or expense is warranted.

Background experience
Max Laver approaches boat inspections from the perspective of a qualified boat builder with 40 years experience, alongside formal study and practical experience in marine surveying, specialising in GRP and wooden boats.

Transparent reporting
While recognising the care and value owners place on their vessels, the report remains fair, balanced and fully transparent in documenting its findings.
This maintains the integrity of all parties involved.
Straight-forward consultations
With hands on experience building and inspecting a wide range of vessel types, Max Laver is well placed to provide clear, practical and unbiased consultation.

Safety
Beyond the inspection, we are committed to safe water practices. This includes having safety equipment and working communication devices such as EPIRBs, VHF radios and navigation lights.
Always understand the weather and sea conditions and log your intentions.

Practical guidance
" I’ve encountered many boat owners and buyers looking for clear, practical guidance. Not every situation requires an in-depth technical survey. Often, what’s most valuable is an experienced sounding board to help people make confident decisions without unnecessary expense." Max Laver
